Privacy Policy

Alpha Door Solutions collects only the personal information it needs to answer your enquiry and deliver your project. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how you can exercise your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

Alpha Door Solutions is a door systems manufacturer at Unit 3 Jaguar Rd, Rustivia, Germiston, 1401, Gauteng, South Africa. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through the website, we collect your name, email address, phone number and message, plus anything else you choose to give: your company or organisation, project location, sector, the door system you are interested in and the project stage.

When you phone, email or WhatsApp us, we collect your contact details and whatever you tell us about your project.

When you visit the website, some technical information is processed automatically:

  • Your IP address is used to limit how many enquiries can be sent from one connection. We keep only a coded (hashed) version of it, for no more than one hour.
  • Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request) to run and secure the website.
  • A spam check on the enquiry form, run by Cloudflare Turnstile, processes your IP address and browser details to tell people from automated bots.

We do not ask for special personal information (such as health, religion or biometric data), and we ask you not to include it in your message.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies, and we do not build profiles of visitors. Our fonts are hosted on our own server, so loading a page does not send your details to a font provider.

Why we use your information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and prepare quotations;
  • plan, manufacture, deliver and support the door systems for your project;
  • keep a record of our communications and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations;
  • keep the website secure and protect it from spam and abuse.

We process your information with your consent (the consent box on the enquiry form), to take the steps you ask for before entering into a contract, to perform a contract, to comply with the law, or where we have a legitimate interest in running and securing our business.

We do not use your information for direct marketing, and we never sell or rent it.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where needed for the purposes above:

  • Our team, including our Cape Town contact, who coordinates Western Cape projects on our behalf.
  • Service providers who host the website, handle our email and run the Cloudflare Turnstile spam check. They may process your information only on our instructions.
  • WhatsApp (operated by Meta), if you choose to contact us that way. WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to that service.
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.

Transfers outside South Africa

Some of our service providers, including Cloudflare, may process information on servers outside South Africa. When this happens, we rely on the safeguards POPIA requires: the provider must be bound by law, binding corporate rules or a contract that gives your information a level of protection similar to POPIA's.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are stored privately and can be viewed only by authorised staff through a password-protected administration area. We limit access to the people who need the information to do their work, and we require our service providers to keep it secure.

If we have reason to believe your personal information has been accessed without authorisation, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and project correspondence for 5 years after our last contact with you, which covers quotations that become projects and our record-keeping duties. After that, we delete or de-identify the information unless the law requires us to keep it longer. Coded IP addresses used to limit enquiries are deleted within an hour.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct, update or delete it;
  • object to us processing it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing that already took place);
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

To exercise any of these rights, email our Information Officer at doors@ads-p.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Information Regulator (South Africa) through inforegulator.org.za.

Children

This website is intended for building and construction professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Other websites

Our website links to other services, such as WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave our website.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
